Transport Malta’s Roadside Inspections in August Yield more than 1,729 contraventions

Transport Malta announces the results of the extensive roadside inspections conducted throughout the month of August 2023. These operations reinforce our commitment to road safety and ensure the protection of our communities.

During the month of August, Transport Malta conducted rigorous inspections across the country, with a keen focus on promoting road safety, compliance with traffic regulations, and ensuring the well-being of all road users. The efforts have resulted in more than 1,729 contraventions, comprising 278 Administrative Fines and 1,451 cases referred to Local Tribunals.

Transport Malta’s CEO, Jonathan Borg, confidently stated that the significant number of infringements identified during the August inspections proves their unwavering commitment to enhancing road safety across the nation. He emphasized that enforcing regulations is essential for the betterment of communities and the safety of everyone who uses the roadways.
