Government’s policy in the field of technology and digitization havings the desired fruit

 While he was visiting the technological sector of M. Demajo Group, made up of five leading companies in the technological field, the Minister for the Economy, European Funds and Lands Silvio Schembri said that these companies are they offer a number of technological and digital services and solutions to their clients and are leading our country to reach excellence in the digital field.

Exigy, IOTSolutions, CSLdata center, Newtech and Smart Technologies have experienced substantial economic growth in recent years so much so that their income increased from €14.6 million in 2012 to €41 million last year. This also led to an increase in the professional employees they employ, from 67 in 2012 to almost 200 today.

“This success shows that the policy of this government in the field of technology is bearing the desired fruit,” said Minister Silvio Schembri. Between them these companies offer a large number of services including Data Center facilities, development and creation of technological products, Cloud systems and artificial intelligence, among others. This group of companies is helping several other Maltese companies operating in our country to speed up the digital transformation process.

“One of the biggest periods of growth for this group was precisely during the pandemic, when the private sector in our country realized that the solution for its future is precisely digitization so that they are resilient and they will be able to recover better, as actually happened,” said Minister Schembri.

The chief executives of these companies, led by JJ Miceli Demajo, stressed the difference in the economic mentality they have experienced since 2012 and how much the direction taken by the Government for economic growth has helped them achieve new goals.

“Economic success is built together with companies in the private sector and M. Demajo Group and the services in the technological field that they offer to the industry is leading to more companies reaching their goals in digitalization and thus we reach to have a digital Malta, which offers more quality opportunities to our workers,” Minister Silvio Schembri concluded.
