Izibet FA Trophy quarter finalists

Hamrun Spartans, Gudja Utd and Marsaxlokk together with Birkirkara, Gzira United, Hibernians, Mosta and Challenge League side San Gwann, all into the last eight of the Izibet FA Trophy.

Hamrun did it the hard way, coming from a goal down to beat Valletta 2-1.

Falcone gave City an early lead but second half goals from Mashike and a late Guillamier penalty saw Hamrun into the quarter finals.

A Santiago Fabian Moracci double saw Marsaxlokk ease past Santa Lucia.

Hibernians romped to an 8-0 demolition of Gozo based Kercem at the Tony Bezzina Stadium. Jake Grech, Jurgen Degabriele, Muritala, Dunstan Vella and Morillas all finding the net but the pick of them all must be the powerful volley from Diakite that gave Spiteri no chance. Equally as good was the dazzling move inside the box by Thaylor who managed to squeeze the ball between the keeper and the near post. Muritala’s clever chip over Spiteri was another magical moment. Overall an impressive performance by Hibernians, now if only they can replicate that in the league.

A goal from Tatsuro Nagamatsu on the 70th minute handed Gudja United a narrow win over Sirens at the Tony Bezzina Stadium.
