Work is progressing as planned on the Aquatic and Sports Center as the roofing phase begins

The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri visited the ongoing works on the Aquatic and Sports Center where the work is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed next year.

This complex, which is built on 5,000 square meters of land in the center of Rabat, will be the biggest sports investment ever made in Gozo.

The minister stated that as soon as the truss structures that will be lifting the roof of the complex were completed in the past months, now the works that have to do with the paneling in these same have started iron structures in order to close this complex as a whole.

He went on to say that, “While this work will be ongoing in the coming weeks, we will continue with the last works we have in front of the same building. Even during the last weeks several works related to M&Es have been carried out, especially the complex system of the pump room and ancillary machinery, so that not only the Sports Center is operated but these systems will be they are also operating this Olympic-sized swimming pool, which is also being built for the first time in Gozo.”

The architect of the project, Godwin Sultana, explained how in the last weeks the works related to the pumping rooms, machinery that will be operating this Olympic-sized swimming pool, have been completed, and now it will start to be roofed. the same Aquatic and Sports Centre.

Minister Clint Camilleri reiterated that the work will continue at the same pace so that next year this project will be completed and it will start to be enjoyed by sportsmen, children and the elderly. He concluded by saying that this project will change the way of life of Gozo where it will be a project open to all and managed in a good way so that it is utilized in the best possible way.
