Various activities are announced in Gozo for the month of September

The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri announced a number of activities that will be staged in Gozo this month as part of the Gozitan cultural calendar which has become synonymous with all those who visit the island.

The minister said that, “In Gozo we are thinking of organizing events not only in the summer months but throughout the year. Some of them are new and others have now taken their place in the Gozitan cultural calendar. Today we are announcing the main activities for the month of September, a month that brings the summer to an end, but which we have also thought to be a month full of targeted evenings for everyone, to attract several visitors.”

The activities will open tomorrow, September 2nd, in Pjazza tal-Qala where a House of Blues music evening will be staged, while on September 9th and 10th the first music festival spread over two days in Gozo – the Levant Gozo Music Fest, more details about which will be announced this week.

On September 11, the fire and rigging association of Santa Lucia will organize Family Funderland with activities for the whole family especially for children. On September 12, Mġarr Marina will host the 7th edition of Stage and Proms on the Sea, a spectacular concert by The Gozo Wind Band.

On the 16th of September the Fontana Wine Festival organized by the Fontana Youth Commission will take place, while on the 17th of September there will be the Wine, Olive Oil and Honey Festival organized by the Għasri Local Council.

The Qala Local Council will stage the Qala International Folk Fest between the 16th and 18th of September and on the 22nd of September in Pjazza San Franġisk ir Rabat Gozo one will be able to enjoy a nostalgic trip musical, with Maltese and foreign songs from the seventies until now, with the participation of Gozitan singers.

Minister Clint Camilleri thanked the Directorate of Culture which takes care of the organization of these activities. He concluded by saying that the financial aid given by the government serves to strengthen the cultural calendar with more activities that continue to attract Maltese and tourists to Gozo throughout the year.​​
