Hibernians sign goalkeeper Justin Haber

Champions Hibernians secured the services of veteran goalkeeper Justin Haber. Haber will therefore return to the club he played for during a short spell in season 2015/16.

His arrival follows the news of the departure of Matthew Calleja Cremona.

A product of Floriana, Justin Haber made his Premier League debut in season 1998/99, spending a short loan spell with Bulgarian side Dobrudzha Dobrich. In summer 2002, he moved to Birkirkara where he spent three years before joining US Quevilly in France in summer 2005. The following season, he moved to Royal Excelsior Virton in Belgium but mid-way through the season, he returned to Malta to join Marsaxlokk.

In summer 2007, Haber joined AO Haidari in Greece but the following season, he moved to England to join Sheffield United. After failing to break into the first team, in August 2009, Haber was allowed to join their sister club Ferencváros on loan until the end of the year. Five months later, he signed an 18 month contract with the Hungarian side, moving to Kerkyra in summer 2011. Haber returned to Malta in summer 2012 and joined Mosta but moved to Birkirkara the following January. In January 2016, he was transferred to Hibernians but moved to Floriana the following summer. In summer 2017, Haber joined Gzira United but left the club mid-way through this season to join Santa Lucia.

The club had earlier signed Gabriel Mensah from Gudja United and Lorenzo Soares Fonseca from Santa Lucia. The Paolites confirmed coach Stefano Sanderra and extended the contracts of Ibrahim Kone. Ferdinando Apap, Thaylor Aldama and Ali Diakite.
