Launch of a digital marketing training session for local councils

Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli, together with the President of the Local Councils’ Association Mario Fava, opened a training session on digital marketing aimed for local councils.

Its purpose is to give councillors more knowledge on how to maximise and make better use of social media platforms and how to engage with the public on these platforms.

Parliamentary Secretary Zerafa Civelli pointed out that local councils carry out very important work for the good of residents and our localities, and that residents should be aware of this work, including the various services provided by local councils. “During my time as Mayor, I realised that many residents did not know about the services being offered by local councils within their locality,” stated Parliamentary Secretary Zerafa Civelli. Thus, through this training session, councillors will gain knowledge and a new set of skills, which will bring local councils closer to residents.

“The training session that we are organising today for councillors and local council staff will ensure that our message will be more effective with the residents we represent,” added President Mario Fava.

Parliamentary Secretary Zerafa Civelli concluded by auguring a successful training session for local councillors which in turn will bring local councils closer to residents
