As more and more evidence of atrocities committed by Russian troops in Ukraine emerge, the European Union and the United States have promised tougher new sanctions against Putin.
It is believed the new round of sanctions will target Russia’s energy sector. The European Commission wants an embargo on Russian coal imports and for EU ports to be closed to Russian-operated ships.
