Official figures show a sharp fall in new cases with 786 recorded in the past 24 hours, in marked contrast to the 1,144 of the previous period.
Sadly another elderly person died, an 86-year-old woman who had been Covid-19 positive.
There were 888 people reported as recovering from the virus.
