The Responsible Gaming Foundation has provided financial assistance to the Baden Powell Scout Group of Żebbuġ, through which kayaks will be purchased enabling the scouts of this locality to continue with their work, which is complementary to the work of the Foundation itself, that is to provide alternatives to gambling and gambling addictions. 80 members will benefit from this financial assistance.

This assistance was awarded in the presence of the Minister for the Economy and Industry Silvio Schembri, the General Manager of the RGF Kevin O’Neill and Scout Group Leader Andrea Belizzi, who expressed his satisfaction, that through this award the Baden Powell Scout Group will strengthen its function and consequently reach even more young people.

“Such financial support for the purchase of these kayaks will be helping the scouts of this organization to garner seamanship information, that is, navigation techniques, while enhancing physical activity enabling them to keep as far away from addictions as possible and also maintain a healthier lifestyle. This supports our work, aimed at creating a healthy balance by bringing future generations closer to physical activity, which in turn nurtures their mental health. It is clear that the work of the Foundation ultimately reaches all sports and hobbies, in order to concretely address today’s challenges,” said Minister Schembri, while wishing success to the Baden Powell Scouts Group of Żebbuġ for their work among young people.

On his part, Group Leader scout Andrea Bellizzi stated that this aid will translate into interactive activities at sea in the summer, obtaining badges in recognition of kayak skills, while serving as an opportunity to explore the Maltese coast in the safest way possible, and above all will be attracting more young people to become members.

“The Foundation will continue to be fundamental in such projects and will continue to listen not only to the addict’s cry for help but will continue to take concrete supportive action in our society,” said the Foundation’s General Manager Mr Kevin O’Neill, while congratulating the Baden Powell Scouts Group of Żebbuġ for their hard work among young people.
