Around 2,000 people are expected to attend the EU start-up summit

2,000 people are expected to attend the EU start-up summit which this year will be held in our country between tomorrow and Friday. This summit is a unique opportunity to meet the best exponents and see with your own eyes the best success stories of start-ups from all over the world.
Through this European summit on our shores, our country is reaffirming its position among the best countries for start-ups. Just a few weeks ago our country ranked fourth among 21 countries of the European Union, as an ideal destination for start-ups, according to a survey carried out by the Europe Startup Nations Alliance.
While visiting the last preparations for this summit, the Minister for Economy, Enterprise and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, said, “We are working to see that we attract economic activity in research and innovation while we continue to raise the diversification in the economic sectors in our country.”
Minister Schembri emphasized that through this international event that is being held for the first time in our country, it will offer a unique opportunity for local start-ups to meet with investors so that the dream they have can be developed in a commercially viable way.
The CEO of Malta Enterprise, Kurt Farrugia, said, “With this summit we are continuing to strengthen the local ecosystem, in particular innovation and good ideas towards our country. We are also bringing to Malta investors who can look at local start-ups and then make the investment in Malta and this is the purpose of this conference which used to be held in Barcelona and Berlin and is now being held in Malta.”
Thomas Ohr, Founder and CEO of EU Start-Ups, said, “This event will start a conversation between investors, policy makers, and innovators to form new collaborations to discuss good policy structure for future-ready economies. Malta is the ideal place to hold this event because it is a place that attracts people.”
