Opposition do not propose any amendments to cannabis reform bill as gets committee stage approval

Reforms Minister Owen Bonnici said that the cannabis reform bill has been approved at committee stage and is edging nearer to becoming law after the Opposition Party did not come up with any amendments to the bill.

The Minister tweeted, “The cannabis reform bill has been approved at committee stage: edging nearer towards the bill becoming law. The Opposition, in yet another twist, did not propose a single written amendment. I thank all those who participated and intervened during committee stage

There will now be a final vote on the Bill before it is presented to the President to be passed into law.

Under the bill, people will be able to carry up to seven grams of cannabis on their person and grow up to four plants at home.
