New therapeutic center for drug-abusing adolescents inaugurated

Prime Minister Robert Abela and Minister for Social Justice and Solidarity, the Family and Children’s Rights Michael Falzon inaugurate therapeutic centre for adolescents at Tal-Ibwar

The Tal-Ibwar Therapeutic Centre, the first therapeutic center in the country for adolescents between the ages of twelve and seventeen who abuse drugs was inaugurated on Tuesday morning. The Flour Center, which will be run by Caritas Malta, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Robert Abela and the Minister for Solidarity and Social Justice, the Family and the Rights of the Child Michael Falzon, while blessed by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna.

The center, with an investment of four million euros, will be offering residential and other daytime programs for more than twenty young men and women. Psychosocial services will be provided not only to residents but to their families. Thus, the aid that will be provided will be holistic, offered in a residence surrounded by agricultural land and open spaces.

The center is equipped with modern facilities, especially sports, academic and craft facilities, designed to offer the best in the rehabilitation of young people.

During the inauguration, Prime Minister Robert Abela described this project as the starting point for all young people who follow a program at this centre, with the point of arrival being whenever a young man or woman finishes. successfully one of the programs and emerge as reformed people willing to fulfil their dreams.
