A young man died and a young girl critically injured when the car they were in crashed into a wall in Luqa.
According to police the driver lost control of his car, a BMW, and crashed into a wall before ending up in a field.
The girl, aged 19 from Qormi, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital.
The accident happened in Council of Europe Street at 1 o’clock this morning.
