Identity Malta furthers its digital leap forward

Third-country nationals can now apply online for their temporary residence permit on noneu.identitymalta.com

With the launch of this new digital platform, the Identity Malta Agency will further simplify its processes. Following the successful digitalisation of the single permit application phase, third country nationals can now apply online for their temporary residence permit.

Identity Malta CEO Anton Sevasta went through the online submission process, explaining how applicants can fill in and upload the necessary supporting documents on noneu.identitymalta.com and effect the necessary payment.

During its testing phase, the portal received 550 applications. So far, applicants could only apply for study (Form N) and temporary reasons (Form O). But as of today, the new online portal will also cater for economically self-sufficient (Form K) and permanent residence (Form S) applications. Eventually, applications for Family Members and Reunification will be added to this portal.

Each electronic form has a list of documents which the applicant needs to submit in support of their application. The applicant can also access information on how to go about the application process, depending on his/her purpose of stay. Once the submitted application has been successfully processed, the applicant will be notified with an appointment to have his/her biometric data captured. Soon, applicants will be able to book their appointment online in order to have their biometrics information captured.

Mr Sevasta concluded that the new digital platform concurs with the agency’s strategy of putting customers at the core of its operations through the process of digitalisation, without compromising on security.
