GOVERNMENT FOR THE PEOPLE: € 6 million to MFA to change all surfaces of football pitches in Malta and Gozo

GVERN GĦAN-NIES: Minister for Inclusion and Social Wellbeing Julia Farrugia Portelli and Parliamentary Secretary for Sports, Recreation and Voluntary Organisations Clifton Grima sign an agreement for the Replacement of Synthetic Football Pitches in Malta & Gozo

As a result of a € 6 million investment by the Ministry for Inclusion and Quality of Life and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Sport, Recreation and Voluntary Organizations, 68 clubs will be benefiting football in Malta and Gozo as well as associations that are members of the MFA. With this investment, all surfaces of the football turf, which are made of synthetic turf, will be replaced. In Malta, 55 ground surfaces will be replaced and another 13 in Gozo.

The agreement for this investment was made between the Malta Football Association (MFA) and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Sport, Recreation and Voluntary Organizations within the Ministry for Inclusion and Quality of Life. The agreement provides for its implementation over an eight-year period with the Malta Football Association being responsible for implementation with the financial investment made by the Ministry for Inclusion and Quality of Life.
