Anti-Poverty Forum Malta supports government scheme to help more people become home owners

The Anti-Poverty Forum Malta (APF Malta) refers to the initiative taken by the Government through the Housing Authority, to assist persons and families who due to past illnesses are not permitted to avail themselves of a home loan to buy a new house,
even if now they are certified as cured.

APF Malta believes that this is another step forward in assuring social inclusion and in decreasing the risk of poverty for those who are considered to be at risk.

On the other hand, APF Malta would like to call on companies who profess a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy, not to wait for similar Government initiatives, but rather to take risks and they themselves initiate incentives to reduce the risk of poverty and promote social inclusion. APF Malta applaudes those companies which are already applying their CSR policy in effective practical manner, rather than just a publicity stunt.
