Another phase in the renewal of PBS

The reform of Public Broadcasting Services to strengthen its operations and offer a higher quality service will enter a new phase where the focus will now be on implementation.

The Board has been working on a renewal plan that has now been approved, and an agreement has even been signed for the next five years where the government is committing almost € 30 million as part of the Public Service Obligation (PSO).

It is now that the vision is designed to focus more on the changes needed. An executive chairperson will be appointed as part of this process. This will be Dr. Mark Sammut, who has experience in management, process reengineering and implementation.

Therefore, the current role of chief executive will be amended to reflect this change. In fact, Mr Charles Dalli will be Chief Operations Officer in charge of Research, Innovation and Internalisation. This role is needed to make the investment to accelerate the modernization of national stations, even at a technical level.
