Open space in Baħar i-ħagħaq inaugurated

The Minister for Public Works and Planning Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi together with the Mayor of Naxxar, Anne Marie Muscat Fenech Adami, inaugurated the renovation of an open space known as the Garden of Santa Maria of the Angels in Baħar iľ – Pebbles, within the limits of Naxxar.

This open space serves as a recreational center for the community as well as for the families that visit this place. In this garden, maintenance work was carried out in the children’s recreation area; new paving was laid; new lights have been installed that are more efficient and consume less energy; and a new security camera system was also installed. In addition, extensive maintenance work was carried out on the security fence that surrounds part of the place, with the aim of preventing acts of vandalism in this area.

The Minister Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi thanked the workers of the Department of Public Works for their work so that this garden was given a more beautiful appearance and at the same time it is safer for the public. He stated how such projects are evidence of the wise way in which the Government uses all its resources to support the local councils in order to carry out projects in the heart of our communities.

Mayor Anne Marie Muscat Fenech Adami showed her appreciation to all the workers who carried out this project. She continued that, after years of malaise and acts of vandalism, this garden can now be enjoyed by the public again. Present for this inauguration was the Director General of the Department of Public Works, Architect Stephen Bonello, together with several architects and workers from the department who worked on this project.
