ISO/IEC 17020: Conformity assessment – awareness course for scene of crime officers launched

Parliamentary Secretary for Public Cleansing and Consumer Protection Deo Debattista launches an awareness course for scene of crime officers

The Malta Laboratories Network, in collaboration with the National Accreditation Board and the Malta Police Force, held a course which provided in-depth knowledge about the requirements of technical competence, impartiality and reliability for forensic examinations based on international standard ISO 17020. This course focused on the various forensic areas including scene of crime management.

Parliamentary Secretary for Consumer Protection and Public Cleansing Deo Debattista stated that the two entities under his remit – the Malta Laboratories Network and the National Accreditation Board – are working in full collaboration with the Malta Police Force within the field of forensics. This collaboration is providing a platform of opportunities for continuous training at technical level which allow the Malta Police Force to meet its transformation strategy.

Deo Debattista thanked the Commissioner of Police Angelo Gafà for his continuous cooperation with the Malta Laboratories Network and for supporting initiatives that will lead the Police Force and the forensics sector to advance forward in this field.
