Second dose of COVID-19 vaccine to be started in old people’s homes

As of today, a second dose of COVID-19 has been given to seniors who have received the first dose of the vaccine in all nursing homes, including private ones, as well as front-liners.

The second dose of the vaccine was given today at the old people’s home in Mellieħa, among others to the first two elderly people from the old people’s homes who were given this vaccine.

“As we are currently vaccinating the elderly and workers in all nursing homes, including private ones, today we started giving the second dose of the vaccine to those who were given the first dose three weeks ago. At the rate we have taken the elderly in all nursing homes, including private ones, they will have been given a second dose by the end of February, “said the Minister for the Elderly and Active Aging Michael Farrugia.
