A 16-year-old youth was arrested by Malta police in connection with an investigation into alleged drug trafficking.
Police officers observed the suspect driving a vehicle and approached him after he parked. Upon noticing the officers, he attempted to flee but was immediately apprehended.
A search of the suspect and the vehicle resulted in the discovery of several sachets containing substances suspected to be cocaine and cannabis, a grinder, and approximately €700 in cash. Subsequent searches conducted at his residence led to the seizure of additional quantities of the same suspected substances, along with other drug paraphernalia.
He is currently being held at the police lock-up in Floriana and is expected to be arraigned in court later today.
