French police to assist Maltese police during summer patrols

Police swap French officers in Malta
Maltese police officers assisted the French Police in France in June of last year as part of security operations during a United Nations conference, this month a French police officer will be in Malta to assist the Malta Police Force.
In August, Italian police officers will also be in Malta, where they will likewise accompany Maltese officers.
The foreign officers will wear their own uniforms, will not be armed, and will not have executive powers. They will work alongside their Maltese counterparts on preventive patrols and public order duties.
The request for foreign police forces to send officers to Malta through these exchange arrangements demonstrates the strong level of cooperation that exists between the respective law enforcement agencies.
