Authorities detain 22 people living illegally in Malta

During the early hours of Sunday morning, police, with the assistance of the Detention Services Agency, arrested 22 people who were found to be living in Malta illegally.
The arrests were carried out during inspections in the areas of Blata l-Bajda, Ħamrun, and Marsa, while a number of inspections were also conducted at private residences in Marsa, Ħamrun, Fgura, and Rabat.
The individuals are nationals of Nigeria, India, Ghana, Gambia, Senegal, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire. They were taken to a Detention Centre, where they will remain until their return process is completed.
