The Opposition Party have turned down the government’s second nomination for Chief Justice, Jonathan Attard, Minister for Justice, told journalists on Friday afternoon.
He said that according to law, the appointment of Chief Justice requires a two thirds parliamentary approval. However, the Opposition Nationalist Party have not approved the nomination of Judge Miriam Hayman.
