Malta Police: Beware Scam calls

Malta Police is receiving reports of members of the public – particularly foreign nationals – being contacted by individuals falsely claiming to represent a local police station.
During these calls, the scammers attempt to pressure victims into sharing banking information, email account details, or other personal data.
We wish to remind everyone that:
The Police will NEVER ask for your bank details, passwords, or email credentials over the phone.
Legitimate police officers will not request sensitive personal information in this manner.
If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and do not share any information.
If you believe you have been targeted or have any concerns, please contact your nearest police station or call the Crime Stop number 119.
