Authorities have detained 76 people over a period of days after coordinated immigration inspections across Malta and Gozo found them living or working in the country without the necessary permits.
Police officers assisted by the Detention Services Agency, Transport Malta, Jobs Plus and Identitá, carried out inspections on buses in Malta and Gozo, as well as on private and work vehicles, where 76 people were found living in the country irregularly.
They were taken to a detention centre until the completion of their return process.
