Details announced for the third edition of ‘Porkilicious’

Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights Anton Refalo has announced the details of the third edition of “Porkilicious”, a culinary and educational event that will take place on Friday 28th November 2025 at the Marriott Hotel, St Julian’s, from 7:00pm onwards.

The event is being organised by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights and the Public Abattoir in collaboration with the Marriott Hotel and Delicata Wineries. This edition of Porkilicious continues to strengthen as a gastronomic festival that promotes the quality of Maltese pork.

Porkilicious was born from a joint initiative between the Public Abattoir and Chef Roderick Vella, known for his skill and creativity in preparing pork. Over the years, the event has continued to grow and become a platform that combines education, culinary culture and innovation under one roof.

Throughout the evening, visitors will have the opportunity to sample a range of distinctive dishes showcasing the versatility of Maltese pork, including traditionally underappreciated by-products. The food will be accompanied by a selection of local wines from Delicata Wineries, while the Marriott Hotel setting will provide the perfect atmosphere for a high-end culinary experience.

Porkilicious’ focus remains clear: to show how often overlooked products can be transformed into refined and valuable dishes, and how a sustainable approach to food use can drastically reduce waste in the production chain.

Minister Anton Refalo said, “Porkilicious is not just a gastronomic event, but a strong message about the respect we must give to our resources and towards the work of all those who work in the farming and pork sector. With this event we want to continue to showcase the quality of Maltese produce and at the same time strengthen education about sustainability and the fight against food waste. Thanks also to all the partners who make this initiative possible.”

An important part of this event is its social purpose. All proceeds will go to the Malta Community Chest Fund. This year, in addition to the income that will be collected from ticket sales, there will also be two auctions of paintings that were made especially for this event, with all the proceeds from their sales also going to this noble cause.

The third edition of Porkilicious is expected to attract people who appreciate the good flavours of Maltese cuisine, professionals in the sector and families who wish to enjoy a unique experience that combines taste, culture and social purpose.
