Notte Bianca returns on Saturday 4th October

Culture Minister Owen Bonnici at launch of Notte Bianca

Minister for Culture, Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici together with Festivals Malta launched the programme for the next edition of Notte Bianca, which will take place on Saturday 4 October 2025.

The program was launched in a hall inside the Cloistered Convent in Valletta, where for the first time a project will be held at the Church of Saint Ursula as part of the Notte Bianca program.

Minister Owen Bonnici said that this year’s Notte Bianca will be stronger and more inclusive, with the collective collaboration of around 350 local and international artists. They will offer a unique spectacle through more than 70 projects spread throughout Valletta, with the aim of offering a cultural experience that unites families.

“Year after year, this event has not only become an integral part of the Maltese cultural calendar, but also an appointment awaited by the public, which strengthens the bond between communities and strengthens our cultural identity,” concluded Minister Bonnici.

Festivals Malta Chairman, Aaron Zahra explained how Notte Bianca is one of the biggest events organised by Festivals Malta, where the Agency’s staff coordinate a number of projects that all take place in one evening. “This year we have over 70 projects, all of which touch on different artistic genres. Preparations for this massive event are well underway and all Festivals Malta staff are working hard to make this edition a success once again,” said Mr Zahra.

Festivals Malta CEO Frans Agius said that as every year, Festivals Malta is prioritising Maltese artists, with the majority of projects in this year’s programme being produced by local artists. “Notte Bianca offers a unique opportunity for our artists to showcase their artistic work at one of the biggest events in our country. We have several quality projects lined up and I urge everyone not to miss this year’s Notte Bianca,” stressed Mr Agius.

Notte Bianca Artistic Director Antoine Farrugia explained that Notte Bianca will be offering various projects suitable for the whole family, with performances specifically for children and others for adults only, with a varied program that includes various artistic aspects. “Like every year we have routes that one can follow so that one is sure to find what appeals to them the most. The program includes theater, music, dance, visual arts and much more, with work created especially for Notte Bianca,” said Mr. Farrugia.

Notte Bianca is organised by Festivals Malta with the support of the Ministry for Culture, Arts and Local Government and in collaboration with Vibe FM, Coca Cola and European Heritage Days.
