The Ministry of Health has just been informed that two elderly people aged 72 and 86 respectively died after testing positive for Covid-19.
The first case is of a 72-year-old woman, who was admitted to Mater Dei hospital on August 11 and tested positive for Covid-19 on August 12. She was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit on 15 August, where she remained hospitalized. The elderly woman died during this night.
Another 86-year-old woman also died tonight in the Intensive Care Unit at Mater Dei. In the second case, the elderly woman tested positive on September 8 and was admitted to Mater Dei Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit on September 16.
The Ministry of Health, while offering condolences to the relatives of the elderly, calls on the people to continue to follow the appeals of the Department of Health, including frequent hand washing, id social distance and mask use.
