Earlier on Thursday morning, the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) were informed that a sailing vessel with 3 people onboard was taking in water 25 Nautical Miles (NM) east of Malta.
The Malta Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) immediately directed an LPG tanker, and an AFM helicopter and SAR launch to the area in order to assist the sailing boat which was battling rough sea conditions.
Thanks to the efforts of the dedicated AFM personnel, assisted by the tanker crew, the sailing vessel and crew arrived safely to Malta.
