Prime Minister hosts dinner to honour outgoing President

The Prime Minister Robert Abela and his wife Dr. Lydia Abela welcomed the President of Malta George Vella and Mrs. Miriam Vella to Castille for an official dinner in honour of President Vella as a show of thanks for the service he gave to the Maltese State. Also present was the President-Elect, the Notary Myriam Spiteri Debono.

In an address, Prime Minister Robert Abela described President George Vella as a man filled with strong values. The Prime Minister said that President Vella first sought the common good and showed a gesture of great love towards the Maltese and Gozitan people when for the duration of his Presidency he chose to sacrifice himself and not work from the Palace. This so that this gem can return to its glory through an extensive restoration project that carried out. The Prime Minister also claimed that the Maltese State will remain grateful to the service that Dr Vella gave for Malta.

During this official dinner addresses were also made by the President of Malta and the Leader of the Opposition.
