The United Nations Security Council has passed a resolution that demands a ceasefire in Gaza for the rest of Ramadan, the Muslim Holy Month which began on the 9th of March and lasts until the 9th of April.
The United States did not take part in the vote which was approved by the other 14 members including Russia, China and the UK.
