14 new lawyers and 2 new legal procurators receive their warrant

The Minister for Justice and Reform of the Construction Sector Jonathan Attard presented the warrants to 14 lawyers and 2 legal procurators after they demonstrated their competence to exercise the legal profession.

In a ceremony in Spazu Kreattiv, the minister congratulated the new lawyers while stressing that it is their duty to guarantee access to justice and good legal representation to every citizen. He also said that they should fulfill their duty seriously and with full respect to the constitution, laws and all regulations of the country.

“Our country is going through a substantial number of reforms in the justice sector that address various sectors including the procedure in the criminal field in particular the compilations, the magisterial inquiries and the Drug Court, it will be more specialization will be introduced with the creation of a Commercial Court and in the coming weeks a reform in the Family Court sector will be launched for public consultation. All these together with more initiatives are intended to have a more efficient and effective judicial system,” said the minister.

He also thanked all those involved in the warrant process, not even the Judiciary and the Committee of Lawyers and Legal Procurators.

For this ceremony there was also present the Attorney General Dr. Victoria Butkiġġ and the Permanent Secretary within the Ministry for Justice and the Reform of the Construction Sector Johan Galea.
