The facade of a building collapsed into the street during demolition.
It happened in Arcade Street in Paola on Tuesday morning.
No-one was injured in the incident which is being investigated by LESA and the Building and Construction Authority which has now issued a stop notice on the work being carried out.
Questions are also being asked as to how the demolition work began without any permits being issued.
