During his speech, the Parliamentary Secretary expressed his appreciation for the ongoing work carried out by the youth voluntary organisations within our communities and stated that our country needs more volunteers for the wellbeing of our society.

“This ceremony is a living testimony of the many youths and youth organisations working for the benefit of our communities. We believe in you, in fact each year we are increasing the investment given to youths. This is a small token of appreciation for what you have been accomplishing and we encourage you to continue your work for the benefit of our society,” concluded Parliamentary Secretary Azzopardi Tanti, whilst thanking Aġenzija Żgħażagħ for its work with these organisations.

The Manager of the Youth Empowerment Unit within Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, Maria Carmela Borg, also spoke during the ceremony and stated how much the Agency has grown since its establishment.

“Aġenzija Żgħażagħ was founded with the aim of helping youth organisations and those who work with youths to grow and improve their work in our society. This year the funds continued to increase so that voluntary organisations can continue to implement their work. From the schemes issued by the Agency since its establishment, approximately 121,500 youths have benefited, with more than 1000 projects implemented, and with funds awarded that exceed €2.5m,” stated Ms Borg.
