Jurgen Klopp to leave Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of this season.

After eight-and-a-half years at Anfield, he says the time has come. Saying the time is right, the man who turned the fortunes of Liverpool around and made them one of the most exciting teams in football said he was just “running out of energy”.

Liverpool the city, the club and supporters have been stunned today. Yet, football and the club must move on and already speculation is mounting as to who could be Klopp’s replacement. One name seems to be rising to the top of the list. Xabi Alonso. Alonso made 210 appearances for Liverpool between 2004 and 2009, winning the Champions League, FA Cup and Uefa Super Cup.
