The Institute of Tourism Studies (ITS) celebrates the official launch of its satellite campus in Shanghai, China, in accordance with a previously signed agreement with the Shanghai
Industrial and Commercial Polytechnic (SICP) on 22nd November 2023 in Malta.
Representatives from ITS, including Ms. Claire Briffa, the Chief Operations Officer – Corporate Services, and Ms. Can Feng, the International Department Assistant Manager, presided over the inaugural ceremony in Shanghai on 1st December 2023.
This collaboration, in line with the ITS Strategic Plan for 2021-2025, further cements ITS’s
dedication to internationalisation, building on its existing partnerships with esteemed
institutions and universities worldwide. SICP, recognized for its educational excellence and
numerous accolades, proudly inaugurates the SICP Malta International School.
In Shanghai, students can enroll in a three-year study programme focusing on either Higher National Diploma in Events or Culinary Arts. ITS will develop and deliver the curriculum, with selected lecturers periodically conducting classes in China. Upon successful completion of the programme, students will have the opportunity to further their studies at Bachelor’s Degree level at the ITS campus in Malta.
The inaugural cohort for this agreement is set to commence in 2024, marking a significant
milestone in the collaborative journey between ITS and SICP.
