This year, ‘Tisjir mill-Qalb’ focuses on diplomacy and gastronomy

President George Vella followed the printing process of the publication ‘Tisjir mill-Qalb 2023’ a few days before it goes on sale in aid of The Malta Community Chest Fund.

The theme chosen for the final edition of ‘Tisjir mill-Qalb’ during this Presidency combines diplomacy and gastronomy. The President of Malta George Vella thanked the Ambassadors and High Commissioners resident in Malta for their great contribution through typical recipes of their countries. “In today’s globalised world, we have greater access to international recipes, which helps us better understand and appreciate the rich cultural and gastronomic heritage of diverse countries around the world,” stated President Vella during his visit to the printing company Best Print.

The coordinator of the book, Paulino Schembri, said that this year ‘Tisjir mill-Qalb’ weaves food and culture together through a collection of traditional recipes from countries which we might never visit. The book presents recipes from 20 different countries all made from ingredients found in local shops.

‘Tisjir mill-Qalb 2023’, which this year has a fresh look, is being printed in Maltese and English and will be on sale for the price of €15 from the Offices of The Malta Community Chest Fund, The President’s Kitchen Garden, Agenda Bookshop, Maltapost branches, Maypole shops, and Pavi – Pama Supermarkets.

President George Vella and Mrs Vella will be signing copies of ‘Tisjir mill-Qalb’ at the Tignè Point complex in Sliema on Saturday 9 December between 11:00am and 13:00pm.
