Hamas-Israel hostage truce extended

The four-day truce between Israel and Hamas has been extended by a further two days and will now expire on Thursday.

The two extra days will allow another 20 hostages being held by Hamas to be released and 60 prisoners in Israel to be set free. Humanitarian aid will also be allowed to flow into the Gaza Strip.

So far the truce has enabled the release of 50 hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip and 150 Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.
