€12 million subsidy to keep the price of flour and nuts stable

With an investment of twelve million euros, the temporary scheme has been reopened through which the government is ensuring that the price of bread, flour and even animal feed remains stable.
This was announced by the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights, Anton Refalo during a news conference with the theme Malta Just, during which it was explained how this subsidy, which was already given the year that passed, it is aimed at importers of cereals and flour for local production.
“As a government, immediately, we saw that we should be the ones to lift the burdens that the international scene brought with it. Malta, as a small island, felt this impact much more than other countries that are bigger than us and that have more resources, also because of the insularity and size of our country. Therefore, we are re-launching this scheme, because the government is really fair to the citizens and committed to keep the price of flour and nuts stable,” concluded Minister Refalo.
