An agreement was signed between the Malta Tourism Authority and MissioMalta

A cooperation agreement was signed between the Malta Tourism Authority and MissioMalta through which a comprehensive online catalog will be created showing the various religious and over 300 chapels that the Maltese Islands have to offer.

The catalog called ‘Chapels of Malta – A Historical Journey’, will offer in-depth knowledge about stories associated with places of worship and a 3D virtual tour that will allow followers to explore each chapel. When he was presiding over the signing of the agreement, the Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo pointed out how this initiative forms part of the Maltese Tourism Authority’s plan to strengthen the importance of religious tourism in the tourist product local.

“We are committed to continuing to incentivize and be a shoulder to shoulder with those who are ready to work together with us so that Malta starts to enjoy more from this touristic niche. Every town and village in the Maltese Islands has cultural and religious traditions to offer and therefore it is important that we invest more in this regard,” concluded Minister Clayton Bartolo.
