A 37-year-old Somali man was assaulted by a man wielding a metal bar in Marsa early on Tuesday morning.
Police said the assault happened in Triq it-Tiġrija, il-Marsa, at 7am.
The injured man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where his injuries were described as serious.
