Human health and the environment cannot be separated from each other

At the invitation of the founder of Fashion For Development, Evie Evangelou, wife of the Prime Minister Dr. Lydia Abela attended an event that is being organized as part of the activities linked to the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The theme chosen for this event is ‘Healthier people, Healthier planet’. A theme that in Dr. Abela’s words should constantly be central in decision-making. “You cannot separate human health from the health of the environment in which we live. And that is why it is important that today in these forums we are promoting this message and these themes,” stated Dr Abela.

Dr. Abela referred to events that showed in the harshest way what it means if we do not take care of our planet, among others even in relation to climate change. Dr. Abela added that for the world the last years, were years of certain challenges. “Pandemic, wars, climate change, all themes that must show that we must have the courage to take the necessary decisions to take care of our planet and take care of our people, not only for today but also for future generations,” concluded Dr. Abela.
