The program of the first edition of Rabat Sacrum has been announced

The cultural activity ‘Sacrum Rabat’ with the theme ‘Treasures hidden in the Most Holy Rabtin’ will take place on Saturday 23 September from 6 pm onwards and Sunday 24 September from 9 am to noon.

This will be the first edition of this activity organized by the Rabat Local Council, in various streets of Rabat. The Local Council was financed funds from the financial scheme for the Annual Cultural Activities in order to stage this activity. The Minister for Tourism Clayton Bartolo pointed out how Victoria has the potential to be a center for religious tourism. “This locality possesses a cultural and religious heritage that should serve as an opportunity for us to have more visitors to these parts of the country. Our commitment together with the Maltese Tourism Authority will be strengthened to see that every town or village in Malta and Gozo is a cultural showcase for Maltese and also for the tourists who come to visit us,” said the Minister.

Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli said that cultural activities strengthen and contribute to the wealth and development of communities, while giving life to localities. “The Government will continue to recognize and give its support in favor of socio-cultural activities in the heart of the localities because we believe in their potential for a vibrant society and to offer a platform to local artists to expose their talents,” stressed Parliamentary Secretary Zerafa Civelli. She praised the Local Council of Victoria for the initiative in favor of this project.

The Mayor of Victoria Sandro Craus explained that this activity will open the historic center of Victoria to the public where one can experience religion, history and culture in one place. Visitors will have the opportunity to visit historical places free of charge and places not normally open to the general public.
