The Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri has launched a scheme through which the designers and the organizations of the Carnival in Gozo will be given financial assistance in order to rent a place that can be used for the construction of the floats.
“Through this scheme, we are continuing to strengthen the Carnival in Gozo as a cultural activity that attracts an audience both from the island of Gozo, from Malta and from abroad, and therefore also gives an economic contribution to Gozo,” said the minister.
Minister Camilleri explained that the scheme will be open until 11 December 2023 and each applicant will be reimbursed up to a maximum of €20,000 per year which covers the rent of the premises. The building must be rented for a period of up to a maximum of three years, which can be extended on an annual basis. The Ministry for Gozo will be appointing a selection board that will see that the applications are in line with the eligibility criteria. The application must be made online where the guidelines and regulations of the scheme, including the eligibility criteria, can be found.
