A driver lost control of his car and crashed into the centre barrier before colliding with a motorcyclist in the opposite lane.
Police said the accident happened in Civil Defence Street in Mosta at 8am on Saturday morning.
The injured biker, an Irishman who lives in the town, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where his injuries were described as serious.
