Regional councils with holistic work in the community/

 The Southern Regional Council in collaboration with Jobsplus have compiled a course called “Award in Office Administration” which will be accredited with MQF Level 4. The requirements to be eligible for this course are minimal, this with the aim of appealing to more people who wish to work in an office environment. The course will be free of charge for everyone and the lessons should start in the last quarter of this year. The Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli said that this collaboration on an educational project is a clear example of how regional councils are an effective resource for local councils. She praised the commitment and dedication of the southern regional council in favor of this project, while she encouraged other regional councils to continue to extend their work in the heart of their respective communities. “This course will not only be educational and valuable for people who already work in local councils, but it will be an opportunity for other people who have the desire to acquire new skills and increase their job opportunities ,” stressed Alison Zerafa Civelli. The President of the Southern Regional Council Jesmond Aquilina explained that this course is aimed at people who work in local council offices or in administrative work, and will provide general knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to required to work in an office environment. The training program includes among others, office and online ethics, effective communication, payment procedures, information and records management procedures and meeting preparations. For his part, Raphael Scerri from the Jobsplus agency said that he looks forward to more collaborations with local councils in order to create more new services and schemes in the interest of citizens.
