New weapon for police in tackling violent suspects

Malta Police officers posted at the Rapid Intervention Unit (RIU) and Mater Dei Hospital have recently successfully completed training in relation to the use of BolaWrap® – a remote restraint device that has proven to be a valuable and effective tool in assisting law enforcement agencies across the globe to safely detain individuals.
BolaWrap is not a weapon and it is designed not to cause pain when stopping a threat. Instead, it is perceived as 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙘𝙪𝙛𝙛𝙨 since this patented device discharges a Kevlar cord to restrain or entangle non-compliant individuals from a distance.
