France has approved the pension reforms which sees the pension age rise from 61 to 64.
French President Emmanuel Macron signed the new law, which has led to demonstrations in Paris and across the country.
Macron says the changes are necessary to prevent the pension system from collapsing but unions have vowed to continue opposing the reforms, and called on workers across France to return to the streets on 1 May.
